The Story of Slojd

Slojd & Spon was born in a small workshop on the Swedish coast, where a love for traditional handcraft met the raw beauty of Scandinavian nature. Every knife begins with a single piece of steel, shaped by hand and grounded in generations of Nordic craftsmanship — from the forge to the final linseed oil finish.

Forged by Hand

Each blade begins as a bar of high-carbon steel, heated in a forge until it glows orange. Skilled hammer work shapes the bevel and edge, followed by precise grinding to define the profile. The blade is then heat-treated, tempered, and finished by hand — a process that takes hours but yields a knife built to last a lifetime.

Traditional Leather Work & Sheaths

Each sheath begins with carefully selected full-grain leather, cut by hand to cradle the blade precisely. Every stitch is laid with waxed linen thread using a traditional saddle-stitch — two needles passing through each hole for a seam that will never unravel.
